The Cogden cottages are absolute sea view beach front family sized cottages in the county of Dorset in the southwest of England. They are just outside the picture post card village of Burton Bradstock. The cottages are so close to the water you are almost in it, and have a private beach. This former Coastguard Station has outstanding views of the world heritage coast. Looking west you can see most of South Devon's coastline and to the east you can look along the famous Chesil Beach towards Portland Bill.

The village offers two public houses (one being thatched), a general store (1 mile) and post office. There also is the Hive Beach Cafe, which is a short walk through the National Trust land adjoining the holiday Park

We are just four miles from the historic market town of Bridport, which has all the usual facilities including plenty of places to eat and drink, shopping and supermarkets, a street market (held on Wednesdays and Saturdays), a leisure centre and arts centre where there are regular performances and exhibitions.

If you travel west to Charmouth or Lyme Regis you can discover and explore the famous fossil beaches. Or you can just enjoy our wonderful coastal walks and the beautiful Bride valley.

The Cottages are well situated to take advantage of the many places of interest. From Sea life centre at Weymouth, to Crealy adventure Park. The Craft and design centre at Broadwindsor or the pre roman earth works at Dorchester. To name just a few.

The Cottages are finished to a high standard and are very well equipped with gas central heating and double-glazing. They have colour television with freeview and teletext, DVD player, hard drive recorder, free wi fi, dishwasher, washing dryer, refrigerator, kettle, toaster, and iron. Also included is your gas and electricity towels and bed linen. Only a few yards away are the cottage's private car Park. We also are lucky to have a bus stop near the Holiday park's entrance.

All of our cottages have either individual decks or patios with uninterrupted sea views Jurassic coast complete with out door furniture for alfresco dining.

There are seven cottages in total:
Clipper has three bedrooms,2 double beds and one set of bunks, and a bed settee (4ft wide) and has two WC's sleeping 6 + sofa bed

Ketch, 2 bedroom, 2 double bedrooms, and a bed settee (4ft wide), bathroom. Sleeps 4+sofabed

Cutter 2 bedrooms 1 double, one with a double and a single bed and a bed settee sleeps 5+sofabed. Brigantine, Sloop, have two bedrooms, 1 double bed, 1 set of singles, and a bed settee (4ft wide), bathroom, sleeping 4+sofabed

Schooner, which is wheelchair accessible with 2 bedrooms, 1 double bed, 1 set of single, bed settee4ft wide and shower room sleeps 4+sofabed

Coracle is two bedrooms, with one double bed and bunks, bath sleeping 4.

Three of the cottages are pet friendly and we do have a non- smoking policy inside the cottages.

We offer a "home from home" experience where you can relax and unwind from the hussle and bussle of the outside world. The first two things you will notice about the Old Coastguard are the peace and quiet and its outstanding views. Looking west as far as the Devon Coast and east along the famous Chesil Beach towards Portland Bill - the location is ideal for anyone wanting to be near the sea.
